The Montreal Canadiens finished Saturday's game without Jake Evans.
The forward was ruled out for the of the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins after the first period with a lower-body injury, the team announced.
Evans was injured in the opening after colliding knee-on-knee with Penguins forward Justin Brazeau. He left the Canadiens' bench immediately and did not return.
Montreal won 4-0.
After the game, head coach Martin St. Louis told reporters that the centreman will not travel with the team to their away game in Pittsburgh as he undergoes evaluation.
Evans, 29, has five goals and 10 points in 33 games for the Canadiens this season. Prior to his exit, the Toronto native played 1:57 and recorded one hit.
